The band typically plays 3 concerts a year  in December, March, and late April or early May.  These concerts are usually at Finkelman Auditorium on the campus of Miami University Middletown.  We often also play at least one summer concert outside. Occasionally, we play a joint concert with another musical group.

Concert dress for men is black pants and black long sleeve shirts. No tie. no white shirts, and no tuxes. Concert dress for ladies is all black. Click below for the upcoming season schedule.

Band

Fees

The Southwestern Ohio Symphonic Band is a self-supporting community band. While we receive donations from patrons and sponsors, we rely on membership fees from the band members to pay for operating expenses, such as purchasing music or paying for the transportation and storage of our percussion equipment.  For more information, please see our Operating Budget for Fiscal Year 2023

Dues are $40 for the season. We regret that we cannot prorate the cost if you play fewer than 3 concerts.

You can pay by clicking on the "Register and Pay Dues Online" button. The online payment system is secure and accepts Apple and Google Pay as well as all major credit cards.

If you prefer to pay by cash or check, you can download the Printable Registration Form and either bring it and check or cash with you to your first rehearsal or mail it along with your payment to the treasurer's address on the form.
