The band typically plays 3 concerts a year  in December, March, and late April or early May.  These concerts are usually at Finkelman Auditorium on the campus of Miami University Middletown.  We often also play at least one summer concert outside. Occasionally, we play a joint concert with another musical group.

Concert dress for men is black pants and black long sleeve shirts. No tie. no white shirts, and no tuxes. Concert dress for ladies is all black. Click below for the upcoming season schedule.

Band

Fees

The Southwestern Ohio Symphonic Band is a self-supporting community band. While we receive donations from patrons and sponsors, we rely on membership fees from the band members to pay for operating expenses, such as purchasing music or paying for the transportation and storage of our percussion equipment.

Dues are $40 for the season. We regret that we cannot prorate the cost if you play fewer than 3 concerts. Please download the registration form and either bring it and either a check or cash with you to your first rehearsal or mail it along with your payment to the treasurer's address on the form.

For new members or members returning from before last season, please also be prepared to document that you are vaccinated against Covid-19.
